Overview

Annapurna Circuit Trekking is one of the demanding trek which takes you around the entire Annapurna massif reaching the summit at Thorong La Pass from where you can see the valley of the upper Manang, home of Tibetan Buddhists, down to the Hindu pilgrimage site, Muktinath, and the Kali Gandaki valley, the world’s deepest river gorge before heading down to Pokhara.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking gives you the fabulous mountain views from Poon Hill and see the diverse Annapurna region. We can experience different geographical variation during the trek. Also, Annapurna Circuit Trek takes us to Manang, Jomsom and the Muktinath region which gets you familiar with the diverse Nepalese landscape and culture. During the trek you will see beautiful villages of Tibetan style, people with different ethnic background and many other excited things. This trek has been proved as a spectacular trekking route in the Annapurna region since it opened to in 1977.

The trek to Annapurna Circuit starts from Besishahar and goes along the Marshyangdi River, with the great view of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. This wonderful trek leads you to the village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups and also offers majestic view of the white Himalayas. As the trek continues to the north of the main Himalayan range, the scenery is equally breathtaking. The total day for Annapurna Circuit Trekking will be 17 days. During the whole trek you can enjoy beautiful rhododendron forests, mountains and villages. You will also see the world’s highest mountains while encountering temples and monasteries.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu

After your arrival at Kathmandu airport you will be transferred to hotel where you can relax and get rid of jet lag. You will be welcomed by one of our representative at the airport and the same day you will be given a brief schedule about our trekking.

Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing tour

Our agency will prepare the required things such as getting permits and trip preparation. So basically, you can explore this beautiful city Kathmandu and visit very ancient temples in the valley. Boudhnath, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square are the major highlights of the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Syange (1100m/3608 ft): 8 - 10 hours

Today we will drive to Syange on jeep from Kathmandu via Beshishar passing through beautiful landscape, rivers and the waterfalls. You will enjoy driving on the jeep alongside the bank of river Trishuli and Marsyangdi. We will be spending a night at a guest house in Syange. Overnight in Syange.

Day 4 : Syange to Tal (1700m/5,577ft) : 5 to 6 hrs.

Today is an official day from where we start our trekking. We will follow the beautiful Marsyangdi river. We will trek for about five hours slightly ascending and coming across the beautiful waterfall on our way. Our destibation will be Tal where we will be spending a night over. Overnight at Tal.

Day 5 : Tal to Danaque (2220m/6,102ft.) 4 to 5 hrs trek

After spending a night over at Tal we will proceed our trekking to Danaque. This day we will be more exciting as we move our trail to witness Annapurna, Pisang peak, ancient villages where you can take photos for your memories. After walking for almost five hours we will be stopping at Danaque to spend a night over. Overnight at Danaque.

Day 6 : Danaque to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft): 4 - 5 hours trek

After early morning breakfast, we will continue to walk on our journey enjoying the beautiful views of mountains, valley and meeting the people residing on that region. This day will be easy day as we will be walking less than previous days. We will be concluding our trek at Chame, the headquarter of Manang. Overnight at Chame.

Day 7 : Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824ft): 5 - 6 hours

After breakfast we continue to walk on our route to Upper Pisang. We will pass through dense forest, flora and fauna and come across the beautiful meadow land and mountains. We will also be able to see the gigantic Paungda Dada rock faced curved in a bowl shape. After six hours of walk we will be able to reach our final destination for the day from Chame. Overnight in Pisang.

Day 8 : Upper Pisang to Ngawal (3680 m/12073 ft.) : 4 to 5 hrs trek

We wake up early in the morning and watch the sunrise on Annapurna. After breakfast our trail continues to trek towards Ngawal from Upper Pisang. On your way you will be able to witness very rare flora and fauna. We will trek for almost five hours and spend a night at Ngawal. Overnight at Ngawal.

Day 9 : Ngawal to Manang (3,500m/11,482ft): 3- 4 hours

We continue walking through high hills filled with beautiful flora and fauna. After early morning breakfast, we proceed our trek from Ngwal to reach Manang via Bhraka. This day will be full of expedition and exploration. Overnight at Manang.

Day 10 : Acclimatization at Manang

We spend a day acclimatizing in Manang by doing some walks and sightseeing around the village. We can visit the monastery and visit Gangapurna Glaier while exploring the village. You will be able to be the part of day to day lifestyle of people residing there for long time. We will spend a night at a guest house in Manang. Overnight in Manang.

Day 11 : Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft): 3 - 4 hours

After spending a day at Manang for rest day we will be more recharged to go back and continue our destination. Our destination for the day will be Yak Kharka. We will leave Manang after breakfast for Yak Kharka following the beautiful landscape and breathtaking scenary. We ascend through Tenk Manang leaving the Marsyangdi behind. Overnight in Yak Kharka.

Day 12 : Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi: (4420m/14501ft): 3-4 hours

After ascending for two hours, our trail descends to cross the river then climbing to Thorong Phedi, we will walk for almost five hours to reach the destination for the day. We will spend a night and rest at a guest house in Thorong Phedi. Overnight in Thorang Phedi.

Day 13 : Trek to Thorong La (5416m/17764ft) to Muktinath (3,800/12,467ft) : 7 - 8 hours trek

Today is regarded as the most longest trekking day as we will be walking for 8 hours to reach to Muktinath from Phedi via Thorung La pass. We should be very careful on our way because we will be passing through steep where you will be able to see the pass marked by the Chortens and prayer flags all on your way. We will spend a night at Muktinath. Muktinath holds an important place for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 14 : Muktinath to Marpha (2,680m/8,792ft): 5 to 6 hrs trek

This time is like we are almost half way through our trekking journey. We leave Muktinath to reach our final destination of the day, Marpha passing via Lubra Pass. We continue our trek by walking alongside the bank of Kali Gandaki river. We descend most of the time gazing the view of stupas, ancient gompa, ang gigantic scenary. Overnight in Marpha.

Day 15 : Marpha to Kalopani(2505m / 8218ft.) 5 to 6 hrs trek

Our trek will descend through valley following Kali Gandaki river. On our way will be able to view Annapurna from very close and pass through beautiful landscape. We will be walking for almost seven hours on this day to reach Kalopani from Marpha. Overnight in Kalopani.

Day 16 : Kalopani to Tatopani (2474m / 8117ft.) :5 to 6 hrs trek

We leave Kalopani after spending a night over there to reach the final destination Tatopani. We will encounter the world’s deepest gorge, Kopchepani on our way. Tatopani is famous hot springs and most liked destination by tourist. You can relax your body after a long tiring day. Overnight in Tatopani.

Day 17 : Acclimatization at Tatopani.

You can enjoy your day spending by exploring Tatopani and natural hot springs. Overnight in Tatopani.

Day 18 : Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,750m/9,020 ft): 6 - 7 hours trek

After acclimatization at Tatopani we will again gear up and walk for our journey. We will walk about seven to eight hours today to reach our destination Ghorepani passing some Magar and Gurung villages creating memories. We will be fortunate to see South Annapurna, Himchuli, Tukuche Himal and many more on our way. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 19 : Poonhill hiking(3210m./10,530 ft) and trek to Tikhedunga(1,570m / 5,150 ft.): 4 to 5 hrs trek

We start our hiking very early in the morning to Poonhill, very famous place for sunrise over the Himalayas. We will not spend much time at Poonhill as we have to reach our destination Tikhedhunga by the evening. We will walk for almost five hours to reach Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Day 20 : Tikhedhunga to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara : 2 hrs trek and 2 hrs drive

After short trekking from Tikhe Dhunga we will reach Nayapul. We will not spend a night at Nayapul. Since we rech there before time so we will drive to Pokhara and spend our night there. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 21 : Pokhara Sightseeing Tour

This day we will explore beautiful city Pokhara. The places we visit are Fewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Devi’s waterfall, museums, Tibetan refugee settlement and Gupteshower cave etc. We spend night at the hotel in Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 22 : Drive back to Kathmandu (6 hrs. drive)

We will drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. It takes around seven hours to reach Kathmandu. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery on your way back. Upon reaching Kathmandu you will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 23 : Final departure

On this day our trip officially concludes. We will be bidding you farewell. Our airport representative will drop you at the airport for your departure.
