The Mardi Himal Trek's duration

The traditional Mardi Himal trekking route lasts seven days, but we can alter it to fit your guest's schedule and preferences. But, you could complete this walk in five or four days.

Required Permits

For the Mardi Himal Trek, you will need the following Trekking permits:

  • Trekker's Information Management System Card (TIMS Card)
  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Mardi Himal Trek 

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Kande and Trek to Forest Camp (2520m);

Drive to the starting point of the journey, Kande, after breakfast, and then proceed to the Forest camp. Starting in Kande, the route passes through affluent towns and forests. Arriving at Forest Camp takes about 4-5 hours due to the path's occasionally steep terrain.

Day 02: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp (2970m)

Another short day walk to Lower Camp, before reaching higher terrain the morning walk follows through lovely woodland. After a few hours of the exciting and pleasant trek with a short uphill to reach Low Camp. Enjoy the overnight in the comfort of a nice simple lodge, and after lunch free at leisure for rest or a short hike.

Day 03: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp (3540m) and back to Low Camp

As you ascend, the route gets more difficult and demanding. Views of the valley below and the mountains in all directions will be visible to you. It takes about four to five hours to get to High Camp and two to three hours to return to Low Camp.

Day 04: Trek from Low Camp to Siding Village (1280m) and drive back to Pokhara

The route winds through towns and backwoods. Along the way, you'll pass traditional Nepalese homes and terraced fields. It takes about five to six hours to get to Siding Town, and it takes an additional two to three hours to drive back to Pokhara from there.


1. Does the Mardi Himal trek require any prior trekking experience?

No prior trekking experience is necessary, but it will be much more comfortable if you are physically fit.

2. Do altitude sickness concerns need to be addressed?

Although not extremely difficult, the Mardi Himal trek is at a high enough altitude to possibly result in altitude sickness. Avoiding this can be facilitated by being physically ready and drinking enough water.
